Winter Kids Crafts – Marshmallow Snowmen Painting
When the weather outside is frightful, stay indoors and do arts and crafts! Need some inspiration? Here is an easy winter kids craft that you can do with just a few art supplies and your child’s active imagination.
Marshmallow Snowmen Painting
Supplies Needed:
- Construction paper. We recommend dark blue, black, brown, orange, red and green colors
- 1 bag of large marshmallows
- Non-toxic white paint
- Child friendly scissors
- Glue stick or liquid glue
- Glitter (for the brave parents)
Step 1. Dip the large marshmallows in white paint, and stamp snowmen on dark colored construction paper. Try dark blue or dark green. Add glitter for a snowy affect while the paint still wet. Toss those marshmallows with paint on them when done, so your child is not tempted to eat them (there will be plenty leftover for that).
Step 2. Cut out shapes from the construction paper to glue on to your snowmen. We like to cut out black circles for the eyes and buttons, orange triangle for a carrot nose, brown stick-like shapes for arms, a big black top hat, and a green or red scarf.
Step 3. Let dry, and voila! Use all those extra marshmallows for hot chocolate.
These are great for homemade holiday cards, or just to show off on your fridge. If you try it out, share a picture with us on Facebook!
