Light
Hello Parents and Caregivers,
February will be a month full of celebration. We will be celebrating those we love on Valentine’s Day and the turn of the Lunar New Year to the Year of the Ox!
As always, we thank you for allowing us to love and care for your child and to play the special role of helping them learn, grow, and thrive. We wish you a warm and cozy month and a fun-filled mid-winter recess.
February Theme: Light
This month our theme is “Light.” We will be learning about light, darkness, and shadows. Your child will deepen their understanding of natural and human-made sources of light. We’ll explore questions like, “What kinds of lights are around us?”, “What is darkness?”, “How does light help us?” and “What are shadows?”

Home Activity
Shadow Play
Hang a white sheet up, place a light source behind it, and have your child stand behind the sheet and act out stories. They can retell familiar stories or create new stories of their own.
Take turns with your child being the performer and the audience.
